Fire in a Nail Salon

Just before midnight, at approx. 2358 hours, Ulster Hose was dispatched for an automatic alarm at 1300 Ulster Ave, the Hudson Valley Mall. Upon arrival of Car 1 and Engine 4, units found a heavy smoke condition in the NY Nail Salon suite. The engine crew forced the door and stretched a 2 inch line, extinguishing the fire in the rear of the store that was being controlled by the sprinkler system. Units operated until 0155, performing ventilation and overhaul. We were assisted by Glasco Fire Dept., the Kingston Fire Dept. FAST team, and Ulster PD at the scene. Port Ewen, Centerville Cedar Grove, and Ruby provided standby crews.
