Hazardous Materials Call At Local Hotel

At 1322 hours this afternoon, Ulster Hose was dispatched for an automatic alarm of fire at the Hampton Inn hotel. Upon arrival of Car 1, a 360 around the building found smoke showing from the rear of the building. Further investigation found smoke on the first floor and in the pool area. Engine 4 arrived and stretched a line and cleared all four floors along with Truck 1 and Engine 2. A second alarm was transmitted due to being unable to locate the source of smoke. A hazmat incident was suspected after employees stated cleaners were in building stripping the floors. The City of Kingston Haz Mat team assisted with locating the source, cleanup and ventilation. All units were in service within 3 hours.
