17.5 Acres Burn During Dry Spell in First Due Response Area

On April 30th at approx. 1400 hours yesterday afternoon, Ulster Hose was dispatched for a brush fire in the area of Route 209. First arriving units located the fire that was approx. 17.5 acres and 1 mile in the woods off of City View Terrace. Multiple mutual aid ATVs were requested with manpower to the scene. The fire was brought under control with a fire line in a reasonable amount of time. Units operated for approx. five and a half hours and turned it over to the NYS Forrest Rangers.
